Phase 2: Drive Adoption

Goal: Get Copilot Chat deployed broadly and people using it daily. This is the expand.

  • Enable Copilot Chat across the tenant (free tier)
  • Configure Enterprise Data Protection (EDP)
  • Set up IT management controls in M365 Admin Center
  • Roll out to pilot group, then broad deployment
  • Run “Train the Trainer” sessions for customer champions
  • Deliver monthly Copilot demo trainings (per Microsoft’s cadence)
  • Focus on high-impact daily scenarios: web chat, Pages for collaborative AI content, file uploads, code interpreter
  • Measure adoption with Copilot Analytics (basic reporting in Admin Center)
  • Once users are hooked on Chat, demonstrate the personal assistant layer: Copilot in Teams (meeting recap), Outlook (inbox prioritization, drafting), Word (document creation), Excel (Python, formulas), PowerPoint (Narrative Builder)
  • Show advanced management and analytics capabilities
  • Position M365 Copilot as the natural next step
  • Activities: Copilot Chat deployment, user training, adoption tracking
  • Deliverable: Adoption dashboard, usage reports, upsell recommendation
  • Exit Criteria: Active daily usage across pilot/broad groups, pipeline for M365 Copilot licenses
